To achieve certification, 95 Percent Group submitted evidence to Digital Promise confirming the connection between the science of reading and the design of its 95 Phonics Core program. Grounded in the science of reading, the 95 Phonics Core Curriculum is a whole-class, Level 1 curriculum based on the 95 Percent Group’s structured teaching approach. Supporting explicit, structured phonics instruction for 30 minutes a day has been proven to accelerate reading skills and avoid gaps for students in K-3. Instruction is scope and sequence based with 25 lessons for kindergarten and 30 lessons for grades 1-3.
