1. The Liar

The Liar is located on the first floor of DUSA, offering a range of beverage, snack and entertainment options.

During the day, the venue is a quiet space where students and visitors can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, meet friends or colleagues, and sit comfortably to study or work. My favorite thing about The Liar is that on student nights it turns into a nightclub which provides great DJ entertainment and provides a safe space for students to meet new friends, have fun and take a well-deserved break from our studies.

2. Air bar

Air is a great bar and nightclub located on the top floor of DUSA. It benefits from all the features of The Liar, plus a large dance floor and a stage for live performances and DJ sets.

In addition to its nightlife offerings, Air also hosts a variety of events throughout the academic year, such as live music shows, comedy nights, quiz nights, and my favorite karaoke nights. Also, it is a popular venue for student associations and sports teams to hold events and celebrations like ceilidhs and alumni parties.

3. Cafe at the top of the tower

The Tower Café is a popular cafe located on the top floor of the Tower Building at the University of Dundee. It offers a range of food and drink options including sandwiches, soups, salads, hot and cold drinks, and a variety of snacks and pastries. The café also offers vegetarian and vegan dishes.

As well as its food and drink, the Tower Café is known for its stunning views over the city of Dundee and the River Tay. Its location on the top floor of the Tower Building, which is one of the tallest buildings in Dundee, offers panoramic views of the surroundings, which is my favorite thing about the venue.

The Tower Café is open to students and members of the public, and is a popular place to study, socialize, and enjoy a meal or coffee with a view.

4. Geddes Quadrilateral

The Geddes Quadrangle is a historic and scenic quadrangle located at the heart of the University of Dundee’s main campus. It was originally part of the old college building of the university, which was built in the 19e century. Today, the quadrangle is a tranquil outdoor space that is popular with students, staff, and visitors.

The Geddes Quadrangle is known for its impressive architecture, including the stunning Gothic Revival façade of the old college building. It also houses several remarkable elements, such as the sundial located in the center of the quadrilateral. It’s one of my favorite places on campus because it’s the perfect location for photography and filming, thanks to its historic charm and scenic surroundings.

5. Teya Rewards

Teya Rewards is a payment app designed to make it easier and more convenient to pay for everyday items such as coffee, food, and groceries at on-campus stores, cafes, and bars. With Teya Rewards, students can make payments using their mobile phone, eliminating the need to carry cash or cards.

In addition to making payments, Teya Rewards also offers a range of other features, including the ability to earn rewards and loyalty points for every purchase made using the app. These rewards include free fries, soups, burgers, and soft drinks, all of which can be picked up at The Liar. Plus, the app keeps track of your on-campus coffee purchases and rewards you with a free coffee on your 10e purchase.

6. University of Dundee Merch

The University of Dundee offers an incredible range of products which can be purchased online or in the Premier Shop located on campus. The merch features our logo and other designs that highlight the university’s heritage, culture, and accomplishments. Some of the popular items available at the store include notebooks, bottles, and t-shirts (in many different colors).

Additionally, a range of sporting goods featuring the university’s logo, colors and the iconic Sporting Union penguin logo can be purchased from the PSL website. Its range of comfortable base layers, hoodies, fleeces, beanies, etc. will help prepare students to play their favorite sport in all weather conditions.

Discover the full range by visiting:

7. Scrymgeour Study Space

The Scrymgeour study space offers individual study space, group study areas, and open-plan spaces with desk and chair configurations. Additionally, the building provides access to computers, printers, and other resources needed for academic work.

This is one of my favorite study spaces as it benefits from being less used compared to the main library and is a great alternative when I need a change of scenery.

8. Space for postdoctoral studies

The postgraduate study space is located at the University’s main library on the first floor and is dedicated to students enrolled in postgraduate courses. Like the Scrymgeour study space, this area is generally less crowded than other areas of the library. My favorite thing about this area is that it has ample individual study spaces, where postgraduate students can focus on their individual work.

9. Food and Beverage Preparation Facilities at the Main Library

The university’s main library benefits from a range of designated areas which students, staff and visitors can use to prepare their own food and drink. These spaces are equipped with kettles and microwaves which are free to use, allowing students to enjoy a hot meal without having to spend extra money.

10. Institute of Sports and Exercise

The Institute of Sports and Exercise (ISE) is a state-of-the-art sports facility that offers a range of services and programs to students, staff and the wider community.

ISE offers a variety of facilities for sport and exercise, including 2 large gymnasiums, a fitness room with cardio and weight training equipment, 3 squash courts, and a swimming pool and sauna. In addition, the property benefits from outdoor facilities, including a football pitch and 3 tennis courts.

In addition to facilities, ISE offers a range of sports and exercise programs and services, including fitness classes, personal training, and memberships in sports societies. Students who enroll in sports clubs can also compete in their sport against other BUCS universities and national leagues. It’s one of my favorite facilities on campus because it provides a space for me to develop my passion for volleyball and unwind after a long day of studying, working on homework, and attending classes. conferences.
