Four former and current students sued Seattle University over a degree the state said it couldn’t award, ROI News 5 reported.
Students expected to receive a master’s degree in nursing. One student said she even received a degree and applied for jobs in California, where she found Washington State did not approve the degree.
The degree and related expenses cost students approximately $70,000 each.
A statement from Seattle University said, “We regret the manner in which information has been provided…about a proposed master’s option. After being told by the state commission that this was a violation, we quickly remedied our communications and informed the students involved. The committee then considered the matter resolved without the need for further action. »
